Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

It's going to reach a soaring 40 degrees today
 so there's only one place to be and that's the beach!
Tonight we are off to a beach party at the local Yacht Club
so I am looking forward to catching up with friends,
a glass or two of French champagne,
some fresh seafood and a balmy summer's evening!
Wherever you are in the world and
whatever you are doing to ring in the New Year
I wish you are a happy and healthy 2016!

Fill your home with splashes of bright colour,
add bright statements pieces to your wardrobe,
pile on the bright accessories
and fill vases with flowers bursting with happiness.

Touch Wood

 

Take your decorating cues from nature
and fill your home with warm timber tones.

The trend right now is for light and honey toned woods.

The perfect answer if you are after a bright, light filled beach house.
Wood adds both warmth and character to a home.
Mix light timber back with lots of white for a Scandinavian feel.
Limewashed and chalky finishes are also a great look for a casual, relaxed beach house vibe. 
Timber is low maintenance and I love my seventy year old hardwood floorboards,
 they are so forgiving and never show up my lazy, housekeeping skills!
