Light and breezy beach style

Light and Airy Beach House Style

Here's 4 tips to create a serene and natural look in your beach house:-
1. Keep walls bare, when using art and prints keep them understated and minimal in style
2. Add a soft, light coloured carpet or rug
3. Inject texture with cushions and throws
4. Opt for soft lighting.

White & Wood

The perfect patnership - white + wood

For me, this is the ultimate beach house duo ~
white and natural timber.
It's light, bright and breezy.
The white keeps the look fresh and crisp and
the timber adds warmth to the scheme -
bringing a natural, organic feel to the palette.
Add a splash of your favourite colour in accent pieces
and you have yourself a winning combination!

Relaxed and Natural

Weekends are all about chilling out. ...

Surround yourself in the things that you love on your days off.
For me that means good food, good company and time to relax.
Nothing makes me happier than a beach walk,
a good book, a new interiors mag to flick through,
some tasty home cooking, a glass of wine,
plenty of laughter, a long bath and
lazing around in bed on Sunday morning.

Touch Wood

Take your decorating cues from nature
and fill your home with warm timber tones.

The trend right now is for light and honey toned woods.

The perfect answer if you are after a bright, light filled beach house.
Wood adds both warmth and character to a home.
Mix light timber back with lots of white for a Scandinavian feel.
Limewashed and chalky finishes are also a great look for a casual, relaxed beach house vibe.
Timber is low maintenance and I love my seventy year old hardwood floorboards,
they are so forgiving and never show up my lazy, housekeeping skills!
