Relaxed and Natural

Weekends are all about chilling out. ...

Surround yourself in the things that you love on your days off.
For me that means good food, good company and time to relax.
Nothing makes me happier than a beach walk,
a good book, a new interiors mag to flick through,
some tasty home cooking, a glass of wine,
plenty of laughter, a long bath and
lazing around in bed on Sunday morning.

Relaxed Style on the Weekends

Chilly Days by Coastal Style Blog

Looking to a create a rustic beach house look?

Then here's a few simple tips:-

Start with a simple, neutral colour palette.
Add rustic or industrial elements like recycled floorboards, concrete,
reclaimed timber furniture, natural stone, handmade tiles and vintage pieces.
Then add organic and textured accessories such as
hand crafted ceramics, woollen throws, sisal rugs and woven baskets.
Then cap it of with a feature pendant in wood, bamboo or rattan
to create a beach house with casual, laid back rustic vibe.

Organic Living

Keep it real with organic textures.

Natural fabrics and organic fibres are popular in coastal homes.
They help bring the outdoors in and give an organic, earthy feel to a space.
Try natural linen sofas, a feature leather occasional chair,
beachy sea grass rugs, a recycled timber coffee table and cane pendant lights.
Keep the palette to earthy, soft, muted tones in greys and browns to complete the look.

Warm Wood Tones

Loving the raw beauty of natural timber.

Raw materials and warm timber tones are key elements in current coastal design trends.
With an important focus on sustainable design and eco-friendly products ~
recycled timbers are taking centre stage.
Reclaimed floorboards, not only look fabulous,
but they add character and a sense of history to a home.
Equally appealing are dining and coffee tables made up in recycled timbers.
With a nod to industrial style salvaged finds look right at home in a beach house.
Materials like natural stone and polished concrete work really well with these timber tones.
