Bath Time | Hamptons Style

Bath Time

Sleep Tight by Coastal Style Blog

Bathing beauties

Take time out and pamper yourself in a blissful bathroom with beautiful details.
As an interior designer, I believe what sets a bathroom apart from the rest
is not just beautiful tiles and finishes but it's the attention to detail.
Accessories and towels add personality and character to the space and set the style.
This could be Hamptons, tropical, beach cottage or modern minimalist.
Colours, bath products and decorator details should reflect the overall style and colour palette.
The end result will be a bathroom that is truly an indulgent experience.

Zen Spa Bathroom

Here's how to create a blissful, coastal bathroom ....

The key to a modern, coastal style bathroom is lots of light.
Large, white or light neutral tiles will keep the space, bright, light and open
and large tiles are easy to keep clean which is an added bonus!
Consider using natural stone and / or light timber to create a warm, organic feel in the space.
If the space allows there's nothing as luxurious as a free standing bath ~
the perfect way to relax after a day at the beach with the kids!
Add some textured accessories like a rustic wooden stool, fluffy towels,
woven baskets and some beautiful bath products, like Aesop,
to create a spa like experience at home!

Bathrooms | Maximise your Space

Maximise your sense of space with these clever style tricks.

Reflective surfaces ~ make a room feel bigger so add some glossy surface to your bathroom like gloss white wall tiles.

Mirrors ~ add a large mirror to your bathroom to create the illusion of extra space and to reflect more light around the room.

Large format tiles ~ larger tiles on the floor and walls will increase the sense of space by making the room look less busy. Consider using a 300 x 600mm on the walls and a 600 x 600mm on the floors. The added bonus of large tiles is less grout to clean!

Frameless Glass ~ if it's within budget use a frameless shower screen as it will open up the room and increase the transparency of the space.

Light and Bright ~ limit the palette to white and light neutrals to reflect more light and create the illusion that the space is bigger than it actually is. Darker colours will make the room recede and appear smaller.

Attention to detail ~ add texture, colour and interest through towels and accessories this will prevent the room from looking bland or boring.
